Xiaomi Redmi 17C - Stylish Design on a Budget!
Xiaomi Redmi 17C 4G was unveiled today, but it was a huge disappointment. Usually, the phones level up with every generation, but this newcomer has gone backwards. Most of its specs are downgraded below the older Redmi 15C, and the sad part is that it’s not even a big surprise, since many Chinese brands are doing the same thing. DRAM and NAND inflation may be forcing these companies to make cuts in other places to keep the phone prices low. The Redmi 17C now has 64GB base storage and 4GB RAM. They cut the battery size to 5160mAh, and the charging speed is also lessened to 18W. We do understand the cause, but Redmi has just taken things way too far. Redmi 17C cuts the main camera to 13MP and the selfie to 5MP. Do use the compare button above and set it against Redmi 15C to see the changes. There’s no screen protection now for its 6.88” IPS LCD of HD+ 720p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The max HBM brightness of this screen is 600nits. There’s a fancy design here, but no official IP rating is given to the handset. At least the performance was kept the same as last year, since they used the Helio G81 Ultra again. It’s not a fast chip, but it gets the job done. But be warned that the phone now has Android 16 and Hyper OS 3 by default, so it might put more strain on the CPU. Samsung Galaxy A07 is a bit more expensive, but it’s definitely a way better alternative to the Redmi 17C.
