Xiaomi Redmi 17 - A Budget Smartphone with Flagship Features!
The version that’s supposed to take over after the Redmi 15 is the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G. They’ve skipped a generation here, but at least the phone is aligned with the rest of the company’s products in the Note and flagship series. Redmi 17 5G is supposed to be a huge upgrade. That’s true at least for the battery. They will put a 7500mAh cell on it. The last version had a 7000mAh cell with only 33W charging. There was a listing on TUV for a 45W charging input on the Redmi 17 5G. It’s right in the name: this newcomer has 5G support, so it’s either going with the same Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip, or they might have something better in mind. You can be sure that Android 16 will be installed on it by default. And its UI will be the Hyper OS 3. It doesn’t bode well for its memory, though. Redmi 17 5G only has 4GB RAM at the base level with 64GB storage. There’s 8GB RAM on the maxed-out version, but that will cost a lot more. We do know that this newcomer has an IP64 rating again. This is a rainproof and splashproof design. Redmi Note 17 series is coming, and the launch schedule happens to be in July. We’ll probably see the Redmi 17 next month. This would be a good alternative to devices like the Samsung Galaxy A17 or A07.
